Once again we arrive at our last issue of the year!
Smart technology has been a much-discussed theme in EW throughout the year, and this issue of the magazine is no different. Setting up a smart home could save you £450 per year, according to The Eco Experts, and with the country feeling the bite of the cost-of-living crisis, individuals and businesses alike will be looking at smart technology to help reduce bills and energy usage.
On page 18, for example, Graham Martin of EnOcean Alliance talks about the necessity of retrofitting existing buildings with smart technology to make them more energy efficient, and the role that wireless solutions can play in quick, cost-effective installation.
Ansell Lighting’s James Foster, meanwhile, explains how ‘smart occupancy’ lighting can help to optimise workspaces and energy use for hybrid working. The versatility of smart lighting makes it ideal for workplaces where lighting requirements are changeable, he says. Read more on page 14.
